Glove Stories: Roger
|
Roger Hopkins talks about his family connections with Sudbury's Gloves in Bideford, Devon. In the first film, Roger shows us a photograph of Aunt Mary at a Christmas party and talks about his mother's work as an outworker, sewing gloves at home and allowing the children to help with the poking stick. In the second clip we see some more photographs of Sudbury's in the 1920s and 1940s and hear about work outings and the end of the glove industry in north Devon.
